Notes

Ref. 5512 Launched in 1959 and produced until the late 1970?s, this reference can be considered the first modern Submariner with introduction of the Crown Guard and a new type of bezel, wider than the case, to allow a better grip while wearing diving gloves.
This model may be considered one of the most desirable Submariner watches due to its pointed Crown Guard (in Italian ?cornini?), and gilt ?meters first? dial, with the rare feature of a surface craquelure caused by the instability of the dial coating - the so-called ?spider? effect.
