Extremely fine and rare, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, black dial, and a stainless steel riveted Rolex Oyster bracelet with deployant clasp.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, polished inclined bezel. D. Black with applied steel faceted baton indexes and luminous dots, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer minute/seconds division, outermost tachometer scale. Luminous steel baton hands. M. Cal. 72B, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Approx. overall length 185 mm.

Is called the ?Pre-Daytona? by collectors; it was first published in the 1964 Rolex catalogue. This reference was available in stainless steel, and 14K and 18K gold, until it was removed from the Rolex catalogue in 1968.
