Staybrite Ref. 2508 Rolex, case No. 025320, Ref. 2508.Made in the 1940s. Very fine and extremely rare, large, ?Staybrite? stainless steel wristwatch with olive-shaped button chronograph, register, telemeter and tachometer.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, flat bezel, concave lugs, snap-on case back. D. Three-tone matte silver and sector dial, painted black baton indexes and Arabic half-hour numerals, inner blue snail tachometer scale, outer minute/seconds track with Arabic five numerals, outermost telemeter scale, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register. Blackened steel baton hands. M. 14???, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, bimetallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Thickness 13 mm.

Reference 2508 was first produced in the late 1930s in 18K yellow gold and stainless steel with olive-shaped push-buttons, a 14''' movement and a 38 mm diameter. Later, it had square pushbuttons, a 13''' movement and a case that was 2 mm smaller. Antiquorum sold this ref., in stainless steel with sector dial, retailed by Astrua, Torino, in May 2006, the Mondani collection sale, lot 86.
