Notes

The serial number of the present watch, 931080, is commonly seen in reference material as the first case number issued for the second period of 1953.
Michael Crichton, 1942-2008 was an American author, director and screenwriter with a doctorate in medicine. Best known for his book Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton was at one time the only writer in America to have a film, television series and book all in the best-selling charts at the same time. Although the fact is not widely known, Michael Crichton was a passionate collector of watches, with a preference for vintage Rolex Sports models.
