Rolex Ref. 16610 COMEX Submariner Rolex, ?Oyster Perpetual Date, Comex, Submariner, 1000ft= 300m, Superlative Chronometer,Officially Certified?, case No. N398410, Ref. 16610, COMEX 6323. Made in 1992. Very fine and very rare, center seconds, self-winding, waterresistant, stainless steel chronometer diver?s wristwatch with date and a stainless steel Fliplock Oyster bracelet.

Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, Triplock winding crown protected by the crown guard, graduated unidirectional revolving black bezel for the decompression times, case back engraved: Rolex Comex 6323, sapphire crystal with cyclops lens. D. Black with applied luminous round, baton and triangular steel indexes, aperture for the date, special imprint: COMEX. Luminous steel skeleton hands. M. Cal. 3135, rhodium-plated, 31 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock absorber, selfcompensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, hack mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 13 mm. Approx. overall length 180 mm.

Approximately 250 watches of the ref. 16610 COMEX ?Submariner? were delivered to COMEX between 1990 - 1997. These watches had cases upgraded from grade 316 steel to grade 904L (similar to the Ref. 168000), but featured the new caliber 3135. The ref. 16610 featured a gloss tritum dial with a big COMEX logo. It is interesting to note that a small batch of 16610 COMEX watches with gloss Luminova dials and COMEX logo were delivered to COMEX in 2004 (F Serial). Submariner and Sea-Dweller References used by Comex: 1970-1972/3 Submariner Ref. 5513 with HEV. 1972-1978 Submariners Ref. 5514 with HEV made for COMEX only. 1978-1979 Submariner Ref. 1680 no HEV. 1977-1980 Sea-Dweller Ref. 1665 with HEV. 1980-1984 Sea-Dweller sapphire Ref. 16660 with HEV. 1982-1986 Submariner sapphire Ref. 16800 no HEV. 1988-1989 Submariner Ref. 168000 no HEV. 1986-1997 Submariner Ref. 16610 no HEV. 1992-1997 Sea-Dweller Ref. 16600 with HEV and sapphire crystal.
