Tudor Ref. 7928, Tropical Square Crown Guard Tudor, ?Oyster-Prince, Submariner, 200m/660ft, Rotor Selfwinding?, case No. 305013, Ref. 7928, case made by Rolex, Geneva. Made circa 1959. Fine and very rare, center seconds, self-winding, waterresistant, stainless steel wristwatch.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, graduated revolving black bezel for the decompression times, Twinlock winding-crown protected by the square crown guard. D. Tropical with luminous round, triangular and baton indexes, outer minute divisions. Luminous steel skeleton hands. M. Cal. T 390, copper colored, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator, ?Butterfly? rotor. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 14 mm.

Production of this reference model started around 1958. While the 7928 Submariner was usually produced with a pointed or rounded crown guard (just like Rolex Ref. 5512), it was also made with a square crown guard configuration. These models were produced in a very small batch the year 1959 only and all seem to start with serial numbers 305xxx.
