Made in a limited edition of 75 pieces in 1999, sold on December 14th, 1999. Fine and extremely rare, center seconds, self-winding, water resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with a stainless steel Rolex Fliplock Oyster bracelet. Accompanied by its original warranty (now void), booklets, anchor, booklets and original fitted box.

Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, Triplock winding crown protected by the crown guard, graduated uni-directional revolving black bezel for the decompression times, sapphire crystal with cyclops lens. D. Black with applied luminous round, baton and triangular indexes, aperture for the date, special "Panama Canal" logo at 6, outer minute division. Luminous steel skeleton hands. M. Cal. 3135, rhodium plated, oeil de perdrix decoration, 31 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, hack mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness: 13 mm. Approx. overall length 185 mm.

This very rare collector watch was produced by Rolex, Geneva to commemorate the transfer of the Panama Canal by the US to the Republic of Panama on December 31, 1999. Only 75 units were manufactured and sold worldwide. No. 1 was given to the former President of Panama Mirella Moscoso; No. 2 was presented to the former President of the United States Jimmy Carter.
