Notes

The Ref. 6542, introduced in 1954, was developed after a Rolex survey of Pan-American pilots and crews to discover what they required in a wristwatch. The design allowed time to be monitored simultaneously in two time zones. Initially offered with an acrylic bezel and alternating red/black roulette style date wheel, the model was constantly updated until it was replaced in 1960 by Ref.1675, featuring pointed crown guards.
