Fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with date, helium escape valve and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster Ref.93160 extendable Fliplock bracelet. Accompanied by fitted box, guarantee, booklets, hang tag and extra link.

Three-body, polished and brushed, curved lugs, screwed-down case back engraved: ?Polizia di Stato, Sommozzatori 1958-2008?, graduated unidirectional revolving black bezel for the decompression times, Triplock winding crown protected by the Crown-Guard, gas-escape valve at 9, sapphire crystal. D. Black with luminous white gold round, triangular and baton indexes, Sommozzatori logo at 9, outer minutes/seconds divisions, aperture for the date at 3. Luminous white gold skeleton hands. M. Cal. 3135, rhodium-plated, 27 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions with Microstella timing screws, shock absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, hack mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Approx overall length 190 mm.

The Italian State Police with its diving unit pursues several activities: judicial police, crime prevention, anti-sabotage, archaeological artifact protection, supervision of the territory and emergency intervention, sporting events assistance and many others.The unit was founded June 10th 1958 and courses re held at the Varignano (La Spezia) at the Navy raiders center (COM SUB IN). In July 2008, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the unit, the CNES decided to make a watch dedicated to the agents and self fi nanced. Only 28 were ordered from Rolex Geneva, both dial and case back being dedicated with the unit's logo.This model Rolex Ref. 16600 is one of rarest modern Sea-Dwellers ever produced, which makes it one of the most sought after by Rolex collectors. According to our research among this very limited Sea-Dweller, it seems that about 10 pieces were further engraved with the divers matricule number.
