Rolex Oyster Cosmograph, Ref. 6239, so-called "Paul Newman", with steel bezel protected by a transparent ring. Produced in the 1970's. Very fine and rare water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers and tachometer, with stainless steel Oyster bracelet.

C. three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back, tachometer graduation on the bezel to 300 units per hour. D. bicolor matte silver and black with tritium-coated steel indexes, auxiliary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers. "Bâton" tritium-coated steel hands. M. Cal. 13'", rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 3 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Approx. overall length 185 mm.

Ref. 6239-6241 (next two lots) Produced from 1961 to 1976, the first examples with exotic dial, the so-called "Paul Newman", came onto the market around 1970.
