ROLEX, FATHOMETER, VACUUM CHAMBER, BRASS

A fine and extremely rare brass, vacuum chamber, HEIGHT 25 cms. In good used condition, untested AAA Interestingly enough, this apparatus has the name «Fathometer» inscribed on it. The name was patented by Rolex in December 1954 and one can speculate that it was probably destined to be one of the possible names for their sport model that ended of course being the Submariner. We have only offered one other example at auction and the serial number on the dial was only 32 numbers apart, indicating a very small production.
