Notes

This clock used to hang on the façade of the Gübelin shop on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse. This legendary shopping street in the heart of the metropolis (leading from the main railway station via Paradeplatz to the lake) was opened in 1932. Famous shops and hotels line the street alongside the monuments and institutions of Switzerland’s largest city.
This clock has been owned for many years by a Swiss-German collector who bought it after the renovation of the front of the Gübelin boutique, which now occupies two floors.
