Rolex, Chronographe Antimagnetic, "Astrua", Ref. 2508. Produced circa 1940.Very fine, large and rare, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer and telemeter with a gold plated Rolex buckle.

C. three-body, solid, polished and brushed, flat bezel, concave lugs. D. matt silver with applied yellow gold indexes and Arabic numerals, sunk auxiliary "guilloche" seconds and 30-minute register dials, outer tachometer and telemeter graduation. "Feuille" yellow gold hands. M. 13''', rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm.

Ref 2508This chronograph reference 2508 was first produced at the end of the 1930's, in 18K yellow or pink gold and in stainless steel, with olive-shaped push-buttons, a 14''', movement and a diameter of 38 mm.After that, it was made with square push-buttons, a 13''', movement and a 2 mm. smaller case.Similar watches are published in "Collecting Rolex Wristwatches", by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova 2001, pp. 296 and 297.
