So-called "Jean-Claude Killy" Rolex "Oyster Chronographe Antimagnetic", Ref. 6036. Produced circa 1952. Very fine and rare, tonneau-shaped, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, triple date and a yellow gold-plated Rolex buckle.

C. two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown. D. matte silver with applied yellow gold baton and square indexes, auxiliary "guilloché" dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer blue painted graduation for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week and the months. Yellow gold "Alpha" hands. M. 13''', rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 36 mm.

Ref. 6036- Antimagnetic chronograph with triple date. Produced in few examples from the mid 1940s to the early 1960s in 18K yellow or pink gold and very few in stainless steel, with various dial designs and hand shapes and with 4 different references :- In the mid 1940's: Ref. 4767- From 1948 to 1951: Ref. 5036- From 1951 to 1955: Ref 6036, called by collectors the "Killy watch". This reference was produced in 170 examples in yellow gold, 144 examples in pink gold and very few in stainless steel- From 1958 to 1962: Ref. 6236.Similar watches are published in "Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches", by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova, 2001,pp. 472-477 and 486.
