Ref 2508This chronograph reference 2508 was first produced at the end of the 1930's, in 18K yellow or pink gold and in stainless steel, with olive-shaped push-buttons, a 14''', movement and a diameter of 38 mm. After that, it was made with square push-buttons, a 13''', movement and a 2 mm. smaller case.Similar watches are published in Rolex Collezionare Orologi da Polso, 1998 Edition, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova, pp. 296 and 297.The present watch from the Collection of Jacques Laffitewas sold in Paris, at Drouot Montaigne, on June 29, 1992,Le chronographe-bracelet, lot 360.Jacques LaffiteJacques Laffite, born in France in 1943, made his Formula 1 debut in Nürburgring in 1974, on Williams. In his F1 career, Jacques Laffite ran 176 Grand Prix and won six times. His first win was in 1977, on Ligier, at the Grand Prix of Sweden. Laffite's other Grand Prix victories were in 1979 (Argentina, Brazil), in 1980 (Germany) and 1981 (Austria, Canada).
