Dedicated on the back: SOUVENIR EXPEDITION SUISSE A L'EVEREST AUTOMNE 1952 - JEAN BUZIO.This watch was probably dedicated to one of the numerous who mountain climbers attempted to reach the "roof of the world".Nevertheless, History tells us that on 29 May 1953, Colonel Hunt (who later became Sir John Hunt) and the Tibetan Tensing reached the top of this mountain which is 8808 metres high.Ref. 6098Produced in the 1950's in 18K gold or in stainless steel.Similar watches are published in "Collezionare Orologi da Polso Rolex", New Edition, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova, pp. 158 and 286.
