So-called ?Jumbo? Rolex Chronometer, "Prince Brancard", Ref. 1690 UF, retailed by J. Stern, Johannesburg. Produced in the 1930s. Extremely rare and very fine, elongated curved and flared rectangular Rolesium gentleman's wristwatch.

C. Two-body, polished, stepped sides, rounded lugs, domed crystal. D. Two-tone matte silver with painted Arabic numerals and bâton indexes, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. M. Cal. 1070, rhodium plated, 18 jewels, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance, 8 adjusments, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 26 x 48 mm. Height 9 mm.

We know of only two examples of the ?Jumbo Prince Brancard?. The first, the present watch was previously sold by Antiquorum, Hong Kong, on June 9, 2001, lot 430. The second example was sold by Antiquorum, Geneva, on ov. 16, 2002, lot 68.
