Notes

Almost certainly a prototype, this astonishing example illustrates the evolution of research and design of the "Daytona" model. In 1979, Rolex made a few experimental dials for References 6263 and 6265 in three different colors, one of which was red. Three other ?Ferrari Red? watches, also accompanied by Rolex service guarantees, were sold by Antiquorum on October 11, 2003, lot 571; and on April 14, 2003, lots 308 and 309.
