This watch is the third version of the Submariner watch with indication of water resistance to a depht of 100 m. The first version, launched in 1953, did not yet bear the crown-guard case, did not indicate the depht for warcr resistant nor did it feature. A similar watch is published in Rolex Collezionare Orologi da Polso, 1998 Edition, by Osvaldo PATRIZZI, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova, p. 238.
