Rolex, Chronographe Anti-Magnetique, Ref. 2508, circa 1940. Very fine, large and rare, 18K pink gold gentleman' s wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer and telemeter with leather strap and gold plated Rolex buckle.

Ref 2508 This chronograph reference 2508 was first produced with oliveshaped push-buttons, a 14"' movement and a diameter of 38 rnm. After that, it was made with square push-buttons, a 13"' movement and a 2 mm. smaller case. A similar watch is published in Rolex Collezionare Orologi da Paso, 1998 Edition, by Osvaldo PArRizzt, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova, pp. 296 and 297. The present watch from the Collection of Jacques Laffite was sold in Paris, Drouot Montaigne, on June 29, 1992, Le dsronograplie-lancelet, lot 360. Jacques Laffite Jacques Laffite, born in France in 1943, made his Formula 1 debut in Nurburgting in 1974, on Williams. In his Fl career, Jacques Laffite ran 176 Grand Prix and won six times. His first win was m 1977, on Ligier, at the Grand Prix of Sweden. Laffite ' s other Grand Prix victories were in 1979 (Argentina, Brazil), in 1980 (Germany) and 1981 (Austria, Canada).
