The Rolex antimagnetic watch Ref. 1019 was launched in 1960 to replace the first-generation antimagnetic watch Ref. 6541 (nicknamed Lightning Bolt).
The reference name Milgauss is a combination of the French word of 1000 ‘Mille’, and ‘Gauss’ - the unit used to measure magnetism, as to state that the
watch can withstand 1000 gauss of magnetism. The calibre 1580 of this reference features a special spiral and an antimagnetic inner cap to guarantee its
antimagnetic function. The current example is in an overall very good condition, featuring an early black dial, baton hour markers, and accompanied by
original box and papers.
