Notes

Launched in 1961, the 1019 Milgauss was the successor of the well-known "lightening hand" reference 6541 and 6543, 2 of the most collected watches due to their rarity and cult status.
Designed for scientists working around magnetic fields, the Milgauss had a soft iron cap to protect its movements from outside influences.
Probably one of the least successful professional watches by Rolex, many remained unsold in stock for many years at retailers. This particular example perfectly reflects this as its serial number dated it to 1980 but was only finally sold through Schreiber in Brescia almost 10 years later. Still accompanied by its punched warranty and perfectly intact caseback sticker, a rare opportunity to purchase a "time capsule" 1019 just like the day it was sold.
