Notes

The Rolex Milgauss, particularly the reference 1019, has had a significant and multifaceted impact on the watch industry and collector community. Introduced in 1960s, initially designed for a niche market of scientists exposed to high magnetic fields, the watch is capable of withstanding up to 1000 gauss of magnetism, its creation underscored Rolex’s commitment to producing purpose-built watches for specific professional needs. Despite its technical prowess and unique design elements, the Milgauss 1019 was not initially a commercial success, leading to its discontinuation in 1988. However, its rarity and the story behind its creation have driven its desirability and value in the vintage market.

The presented example remains in excellent condition, with a strong case showing some light scratches from wear. The original silver dial is preserved in excellent condition, with all luminous elements intact and having turned to a warm yellow colour.
