Notes

Revealing Daytona reference 116520 in the year 2000 is a very important milestone in the brand's history.

It must be noted that all Rolex chronographs previously sold were equipped with Swiss movements purchased from external suppliers and then modified internally (Valjoux movements for manual winding chronographs, then Zenith for automatic).

The 116520 is thus the result of Rolex's decision to manufacture its own chronograph movement for the first time, the Caliber 4130, which introduces major innovations and a heavy reliability.

The model presented here is an extremely desirable example because its dial has colored over the years to obtain a warm and enchanting patina, the original white have taken an ivory patina of the most beautiful effect.

This type of aging, very rare, affects only few Daytona examples, and collectors have given it the nickname "panna cotta" or "panna dial."
