The huge majority of Datejusts delivered to armed forces were made of stainless steel and steel and gold. Examples in full gold (probably for higher ranking officials) were made in very small quantities and examples such as this one with matching case numbers stamped inside the caseback and still fitted with its arabic date disk are very rare.
