They decide to do extraordinary things » is actually a Rolex slogan, proof that the manufacturer made the most of this exploit, by presenting the Explorer I as the wristwatch of all records. As a symbol of adventures, the Explorer I, born in 1953, is characterized by its robustness and reliability. It was truly intended for explorers. Reference 1655 called Explorer II, which appeared in 1971 and was produced until 1985, more particularly met the needs of cavers. The luminous accents and the orange 24-hour hand allowed them to read the dial in the dark and distinguish between day and night. Nicknamed « Steve McQueen » in honor of the famous actor, although he probably never wore this model, this wristwatch is one of the most emblematic watches Rolex produced.
