Notes

Known to Italian collectors as the Freccione due to the large orange hand designed for explorer’s to keep a better track during their cave expeditions, this example is an early version of the reference 1655, featuring a Mark 1 dial that is easily recognisable by its straight seconds hand, its curling R in the word Rolex and the L in the word Perpetual that is positioned to the right of the X and the T Swiss T at the bottom.
The service case shows its original bevel and the dial has aged to a wonderful patina that matches its original hands, a great early example.
