Notes

The Rolex 16660, known as the «Triple Six,» was produced from 1978 to 1989. This model was a pioneering Sea-Dweller, featuring a sapphire crystal for the first time. Additionally, the 16660 boasted a larger helium escape valve (HEV), a unidirectional bezel as opposed to the previous bidirectional one, and the new Calibre 3035 movement with a quick-set date feature.

The Rolex Sea-Dweller 16660 Comex was in production from 1980 to 1984, with reports indicating that only 200 examples were made. The first batch, to which this lot belongs is believed to have included around 50 pieces with the old-style matte dials with two lines of text. The second batch, featured glossy dials with white gold surround indexes and four lines of text.

Antiquorum is delighted to present this exceptional example of the first batch, which has been exceptionally well-preserved. The original T<25 dial is in excellent condition, the case is very robust with no staining, and all numbers are clearly visible. Furthermore, the serial number is repeatedly stamped on the inside of the case back.
