Part of the second series of gold GMT's (the earlier examples were reference 6542 and were fitted with a bakelite bezel), these were characterised by a new metal bezel insert and new "Mercedes" style hands but preserved the case without crown guards (these were also added on later examples. Still fitted with its rare expandable riveted bracelet, it has remained in all original condition.
