Notes

The present Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675 is an early and highly attractive example of the coveted “Cornino” case configuration, distinguished by its pointed crown guards and its characteristic proportions of the early 1960s.

One of the defining features of this watch is its extraordinary tropical dial, which has aged from its original black tone to a warm and perfectly even shade of brown, a transformation highly prized among collectors for its rarity and aesthetic charm. The luminous hour markers show a later relume, executed with care and fully coherent with the dial’s overall presentation.

This early 1675 is powered by the caliber 1560 and features the desirable double butterfly rotor, a detail limited to the earliest executions of the model and considered a hallmark of the transitional phase between the first GMT-Master reference 6542 and the later mainstream production of the 1675. The watch is further complemented by a period-correct Jubilee bracelet, adding to its vintage character and enhancing its overall harmony.

The original red and blue bezel insert has developed a soft and appealing tonality consistent with age, contributing to the watch’s unmistakable vintage presence.
Together with its Cornino case, tropical dial and early movement architecture, the present example stands as a particularly compelling illustration of the earliest era of the GMT-Master lineage, combining rarity, authenticity and the unique visual signature.
