Notes

It was in 1954, probably at the request of "PAN AM", the Pan American World Airways - one of the largest airline companies created in 1926 - that Rolex conceived the GMT. It is a pilot's wristwatch which, thanks to an additional hand and a blue and red bi-directional bezel, allows instant reading of a second time zone. A watchmaking complication essential to the emergence of long-haul flights, and therefore an essential tool for travelers. Its most iconic version is undoubtedly the reference 1675, created in 1960, which will be produced for 31 years. In this case, what makes the piece we are presenting special is, in addition to its very good state of preservation for a yellow gold watch, its brown dial, known as "nipple dial" because of the shape of the indexes.
