From its launch in 1955, the GMT-Master was distinguished by its 24-hour rotating bezel to determine whether it is day or night, fitted with an additional hand circling the dial in 24 hours. This watch allowed pilots of the booming intercontinental flights of this time to read the time in two time zones simultaneously. Originally the bezel disc was made of red and blue bakelite, by 1959 the disc was replaced for aluminum and epoxy.
The model offered is a 1968 reference 1675 “luxury” GMT-Master. Rolex is one of the manufacturers to offer sports watches in gold. It is a round case in 18k yellow gold, 40 mm in diameter, with a brown rotating bezel graduated 24 hours. Brown dial with luminescent round indexes, date window at 3 o'clock.
