Notes

Introduced in 1953, the Rolex Submariner was the first diving watch water-resistant to 100m. The reference 1680 is the most emblematic vintage Submariner with date, produced approximately from 1967 to 1978. This particular model is called “Red feet first” due to the writings on the dial. These “Red Submariner” were only produced for the first part of the ref. 1680’s production run, until approximately 1975. MK6 Red Submariner dials are the last version of the feet-first dial, meaning the feet depth rating appears before the meter rating. They are produced approximately from 1973 to 1976. Same as the MK5 dials, they feature the red ‘SUBMARINER’ text printed directly on the dial, but are differentiated by the very distinct ‘closed sixes’ for the depth rating.
