Notes

A beautifully balanced early Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Bubble Back”, reference 3372, showcasing a highly attractive silver-ivory dial with central seconds and applied Arabic numerals at 12-3-6-9. The composition is classically 1940s: discreet coronet and “ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL” beneath 12, a clean “OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER” signature above 6.

The hands and hour markers retain their original radium luminous material, consistent with the period and adding a warm, time-earned patina highly appreciated by vintage connoisseurs. Together with the gilt leaf-style hands, the dial expresses a charming and cohesive vintage presence.

The two-metal case blends stainless steel with a rose-gold, engine-turned bezel, whose subtle engraved markers elevate the aesthetic character. True to the “Bubble Back” architecture, the rounded Oyster case accommodates the early self-winding calibre that laid the foundations of Rolex’s Perpetual lineage. Completing the configuration, the watch features a rare two-tone “beads of rice” bracelet in steel and rose gold, offering a coherent and period-correct ensemble.

Bearing serial number 602’493, the watch dates to the mid-1940s, a pivotal era in the development of Rolex automatic chronometers. With its correct central-seconds chronometer dial, sought-after radium lume, rose-gold accents, and original bracelet, this Ref. 3372 represents a charming and historically compelling Bubble Back, a refined choice for the collector seeking authenticity, rarity, and early Oyster Perpetual heritage.
