ROLEX REF. 4611 CELLINI "KING MIDAS" TIGER EYE DIAL Rolex, Genève, "Cellini, King Midas", case No. 4207638, No. 3552, Ref. 4611. Made in 1976. Fine and very rare, elegant, heavy 18K yellow gold and diamond wristwatch with an integral 18K yellow gold Rolex link bracelet and concealed deployant clasp engraved: King Midas.

Two-body, solid, brushed, bezel set with 3 rows of diamonds, snap-on case back, sapphire crystal Tiger-Eye. Yellow gold baton hands Cal. 651, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring.

Dial, case and movement signed. DIM. 24 x 33 mm. THICKNESS 6 mm. Approx. overall length 175 mm. Made famous by Elvis Presley who had received a King Midas, this line of Rolex were among the most expensive of the line coming in at almost double the price of a standard gold Day-Date. This particular example fitted with three rows of diamonds and a mint tiger-eye and weighing in at 137 grams has never been offered at auction.
