Marketed as an Air-King, the reference 5500 came in a variety of designs one of these featuring a black dial and the name Explorer on the dial. White dial versions such as this example still feature the Explorer indexes but only carry the name Air-King. This particular example, which is not seen often, carries the word precision on the dial referring to the 26-jewels 1520 caliber.
