ROLEX REF. 5512 SUBMARINER METER FIRST GILT CHAPTER RING POINTED CROWN GUARD Rolex, Submariner, 200m=660ft, Submariner, case No. 694110, Ref. 5512. Made in 1961. Fine, center seconds, self-winding, water resistant to 200 m, stainless steel diver's Chronometer wristwatch with a later Rolex oyster riveted bracelet dated 2.68. Accompanied by a Rolex fitted box and Submariner instruction booklet.

Three-body, polished and brushed, screw-down case back and crown, graduated bi-directional revolving black bezel for the decompression times, Twinlock winding crown protected by the crown guard. Gilt black with luminous round, baton and triangular steel indexes, outer minute track. Luminous steel skeleton hands Cal. 1530, rhodium-plated, 25 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws.

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 40 mm. THICKNESS 14 mm. Approx. overall length 170 mm. A few times in a lifetime , collectors come across an example that could be described as almost perfect. This example of a gilt 5512 is exactly this. The case is extremely thick displaying a beautiful bevel on the lug present on both sides of the case. The bezel is razor sharp showing virtually no wear. To complete this collectors dream the gilt explanation mark dial is mint showing no spotting or scratches. The best example we have ever had the chance of offering. Property of a Swiss Collector
