Notes

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 40 mm. THICKNESS 15 mm. Made in very limited quantities ordered by the president of Syria, Hafez Al Asad. Before becoming President of Syria (from 1971 to 2000), he was a general which probably explains his interest for sport Rolex watches just like the Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said. All those watches were ordered through Asprey and had the retailer's stamp on the outside caseback. Still present with its original punched warranty, hang tag with the serial number, end pieces holder and plastic folder with the calendar card with its serial, it is the only 1680 Asad complete ever to be offered at auction. To be sold without reserve
