Notes

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 40 mm. THICKNESS 15 mm. Approx. overall length 185 mm. Bought new by the father of the consignor, the watch has been kept in the safe since he inherited it as "it looked like a Submariner". Known by collectors as the kising L due to the letter L touching the E in the Rolex word, the rare Submariner Explorer dial has become one of the most desirable sports model in recent years. Produced in limited numbers, this new discovery never offered at auction is the opportunity to acquire this fantastic example. Apart from a service at Wempe a few years back it seems the watch has only been serviced a few times and its thick case is a reflection of its extremely rare wrist time. The dial has been untouched and is in extremely well conserved original condition showing some cloudiness from light oxydation visible under certain angles. Never Offered at Auction. Property of the Family of the Original Owner
