ROLEX REF. 5513 MILITARY SUBMARINER STEEL Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual, Submariner, 660ft = 200m' case No. 3927201, Ref. 5513. Made in 1972, issued to the British Royal Navy in 1975, No.0552/923-7697. 370/74. Fine and very rare, hacking center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel military diver's wristwatch with fixed bar lugs.

Three-body, brushed, screwed-down case back with military issue numbers, the inner case back with matching serial number 3927201, graduated bi-directional revolving bezel calibrated to minute intervals, screw-down Triplock winding crown with protective guards. Black with luminous Tritium round, triangular and baton indexes, outer minute/ seconds track, circled T printed above DEPTH rating. Sword Hands. Cal. 1520, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, hack mechanism.

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 40 mm. THICKNESS 14 mm. The ROLEX MILITARY SUBMARINER wristwatches issued to the BRITISH ROYAL NAVY featured a dial with encircled T (to indicated the use of TRITIUM LUMINESCENT), large sword hands, bezel calibrated to 60 minutes, movements with hacking (stop) seconds and engraved case-back with Ministry of Defense item code and issue number, additionally the inner case-back is engraved with the full serial number to ensure the head and back remain matched. During routine servicing, often original parts were unavailable and many MilSubs found today are fitted with standard 5513 parts. A MilSub in original configuration, such as this example, that retains its correct hands, dial, bezel and case-back is very rare to find and referred to as a FULL SPEC example.
