Notes

Caseback IV. 68
It took almost ten years, between 1953 and 1962, i.e. since the birth of the Submariner model, to develop reference 5513, the most emblematic model of the " no date " Submariners. Launched three years after the reference 5512, the Submariner Ref. 5513 finally meets all the technical requirements of the professional diving sector. As evidence of its success, the watch was produced by the Manufacture from 1962 to 1989. This model, from 1968, is one of the first examples of 5513 with a matt dial. Here, the particularity of this watch is its "Meter First" dial where the indication of water-resistance at 200 metres precedes that in feet. This important detail, found on the first models from 1967 to 1969, is unusual and makes the watch all the more sought-after by collectors.
