18K yellow gold, manual-winding, tonneau-shaped, anti-magnetic, gentleman’s wristwatch, screwed case-back, round inclined bezel, silver colour dial with applied indexes, subsidiary seconds at 9 and three horological complications:
- 1/5 second chronograph (activated by the two round-shaped push-pieces)
- Half-instantaneous 30-minute counter (subsidiary dial at 3 o’clock)
- 12-hour counter (subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock)
- Half-instantaneous date of the month (exterior graduation with central index)
- Day of the week (aperture at 11 o’clock; indications given in English)
- Month of the year (aperture at 1 o’clock; indications given in English)

Rolex, Ref. 6036
Rolex’s “Antimagnetic” chronographs with triple date were produced in few examples from the mid-1940s to the early-1960s, in 18K yellow or 18K pink gold and in very few examples in stainless steel, with various dial designs and hand shapes and with four different references:
- In the mid-1940s: Ref. 4767.
- From 1948 to 1951: Ref. 5036.
- From 1951 to 1955: Ref 6036, so-called by collectors the “Jean-Claude Killy” (after international ski champion Jean-Claude Killy, who first became famous in the 1960s). This reference was produced in 170 examples in yellow gold, 144 examples in pink gold and very few in stainless steel.
- From 1958 to 1962: Ref. 6236.
This current example has been maintained in very good condition featuring an original dial.

Jean-Claude Killy (born August 30, 1943)
A French Alpine skier and a triple Olympic champion. He was a World Cup champion in 1967 and again in 1968. Killy won the Triple Crown of Alpine Skiing with a sweep of all three gold medals at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, in the slalom, giant slalom and downhill events. He later even held a position on the Rolex board of directors.
