Notes

Launched in 1953, the Turnograph was produced alongside the Submariner launched the same year and was the first reference featuring a revolving bezel. Produced during 1 year only until March 1954, 4'200 units were made in steel. This period was very much a transition phase with different variations being tested by the firm among which some featured the "Monometer" signature on the dial.
While the huge majority were fitted with black dials, white dial versions are extremely rare.
This watch, recently discovered in Geneva, from the original family has remained in excellent overall condition with its original bezel and mint dial. Sold new at the famous retailer Chronometrie Philippe Beguin as per the original stamp on the warranty in August 1955, a rare opportunity to acquire one of the first "sports" Rolex watches ever produced.
