1954 was the year that saw the launch of a Rolex that would forever hold its place in horological history the Submariner. Part of the first references ever launched (one can also find references 6200 and 6204 dating from the same year), the reference 6205 was only made for about one year. Some of these models did not feature the word Submariner such as this one, and had also an iconic second hand featuring a lollipop at its extremity and no minute markers on the bezel. According to scholars it was the first model to feature Mercedes hands, this example has its original bezel that has turned to a nice brown shade, and is on of the earlier and rarer models without the word Submariner on the dial.
