Ref. 6238. This reference, which collectors call the "Pre-Daytona" was produced in stainless steel and in 14K and 18K gold. The reference 6238 is equipped with the caliber 72B or 722, the main differences between the Daytona and the pre-Daytona is the color of the dial (monochrome for the Pre-Daytona and colored for Daytona) and the tachymeter scale on the dial for Pre-Daytona and on the bezel for the Daytona (full steel bezel or steel with black plastic insert printed in white). It was published for the first time in the Rolex catalogue for the Italian Market in 1964 and remained there until 1968. Its production is estimated at 3,600 examples from 1962 to 1967. REF. 6238. Cette référence est appelée par les collectionneurs 'Pre-Daytona', elle a été produite en acier et en or 14K et 18k.
