Here, we are selling a real myth: the Lazenby, named after the actor Georges Lazenby who played the most famous spy in the world in the film « On Her Majesty’s Secret Service », an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Ian Fleming. A milestone in watchmaking history, it is above all a true cinematographic icon. An exceptional reference reference 6238 is a « Pre-Daytona », one of the rarest and oldest references of Rolex chronographs. It precedes reference 6239, the first Cosmograph Daytona made by Rolex. Recognizable by the tachymeter scale on the dial, the push-pieces and the smooth bezel, it was only produced from 1960 to 1967 in steel and gold. This model is therefore one of the last products produced by the manufactory, marking the end of an era and announcing the great Daytona saga. A cinematographic icon: « My name is Bond » It is a true romance between James Bond and Rolex, as presented by Ian Fleming in his novel In the Service of His Majesty: « Bond surveyed his weapons. They were only his hands and his feet, his Gillette razor and his wristwatch, a heavy Rolex Oyster Perpetual on an expanding metal bracelet. Used properly, these could be turned into most e"ective knuckle busters ».
