Notes
A rare and historically important stainless steel chronograph wristwatch featuring a silver dial, early Mk2 bezel, and “Fuerza Aérea del Perú” caseback engraving, among the earliest examples delivered to the Peruvian Air Force.
This remarkable piece embodies the intersection of Rolex’s tool-watch mastery and military history. Distinguished by its luminous silver dial, slim hands, and Mk2 bezel, the present example represents one of the first configurations issued under the Fuerza Aérea del Perú commission. The crisp caseback engraving, the inaugural style used for these deliveries, confirms its place among the very earliest examples supplied to Peruvian Air Force pilots during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The FAP’s collaboration with Rolex remains one of the most intriguing chapters in the brand’s professional chronograph heritage. Issued in limited numbers and destined for aviators who relied on precision above all, these watches have since achieved near-mythic status among collectors.
The present example, in exceptional and unaltered condition, stands as a tangible link to that heroic era where the romance of flight met the relentless pursuit of precision.
