With a serial just beyond the 1 million mark, it is immediately clear that this a very early version of a 6239. Consigned by the original German family, one notices first the correct 300 Units per Hour bezel, the thinner running seconds hand and the correct 72B caliber. The black dial is in excellent condition just with some luminous material that is starting to fade. A fantastic early version of the 6239 from private provenance.
