Notes

Distinguished by its iconic exotic “Paul Newman” dial with contrasting subsidiary registers and Art Deco numerals, reference 6239 remains among the most celebrated vintage chronograph references ever produced by Rolex. Introduced during the 1960s, the model established the visual identity of the Cosmograph line through the introduction of the tachymeter scale engraved onto the bezel rather than printed on the dial. Originally produced in relatively small numbers, “Paul Newman” dial examples have become exceptionally sought-after among collectors due to their distinctive aesthetics, rarity and strong association with one of the most legendary configurations in vintage Rolex production.
