Right before the introduction of the new automatic Daytona reference 16520 in 1988, Rolex was selling their last manual wind Daytonas which also had a R serial. This example has been very well preserved showing clean and deep hallmarks, a tight bracelet and a dial with very well preserved lume dots matching the hands perfectly. These last manual wind Daytonas are now very sought after due to their short and late production run, truly an end of an era. A very nice reference 6263 bezel insert has been mounted on this watch.
